Today is the New Moon and so it is fitting that I write this post to get us ready to let go of 2016 and begin 2017 on the right foot. The New Moon energy has already started to take effect, with the peak of this energy at 11:53 PM (MST) and will continue to felt until December 31, 2016 around noon, where it will then assist to bring in the energy of the New Year. This New Moon in Capricorn is essentially setting the tone for what 2017 has in store for us. Capricorn is pushing us to be present, accountable, work through limiting situtations by crushing our limits and thinking outside the box. Using Capricorn energy to level up everything in our lives and our unique abilties to manifest the life we dream about. This allows us to achieve our goals/intentions and continue to dream bigger and better. Today is the perfect day to start thinking about what your intention or theme 2017 is.
I have been given a guide from Source to support you in creating the best year of your life!
1. Set your intention for the year as an affirmation. Write it somewhere you see it every day and repeat it to yourself. For example, 2017 will be my most successful year in business. I am a successful, empowering and intuitive woman. I have created a balanced work, home, and social schedule in order to achieve my goals and live my life to the fullest.
2. Break your year into seasons. Pay attention to the energy of each season. For example during the winter months we may not be able to attain the same goals we would in the summer. Winter is about rest and self care. This doesn't mean we don't set any goals it just means we need to set our goals to match the seasons. For each season write down your personal and work/business goals. Sit down as a family and discuss the family intentions and goals as well. Are your own personal goals in alignment with the family goals? If not, take time now to adjust so everyone is on the same page, allowing the family to flow through 2017 with ease.
Winter (December 21, 2016 - March 19, 2017): Set goals that are easy to achieve during this time. Set yourself up for success. If you struggled with maintaining a self care routine in 2016, this would be a great time to start establishing good habits in self care. Self care recharges our batteries. When we neglect this routine we eventually come to a crashing halt. Take time for yourself, write it into your schedule (daily, weekly, monthly). Use the last 10 days of 2016 to really let go of anything that no longer serves you. It is important to be aware of any energies you may be bringing into 2017 that you really don't want and will do a disservice to you thorughout the coming year.
Spring (March 20 - June 20, 2017): Time to plant some seeds (ideas) to nurture and grow. Set goals in the spring that allow you to be creative and in tune with your life's purpose. We see an increase in productivity as the snow begins to melt and the first plants break the surface of the soil. We can now start setting more aggressive goals and ride the wave of freshness and new beginnings. This is a great time to start that project you keeping putting to the side. Make sure you put the things back on your to do list that never seem to get done the rest of the year.
Summer (June 21 - September 21, 2017): Time to play and enjoy the nature surrounding you. Make sure your goals allow for this. Without allowing yourself some play time you will find yourself stuck in a rut. Spend time in nature and open yourself up to listen to what the Earth is telling you. During the summer your goals should be a continuation of what was started in the Spring. It is important not to start huge projects now, you may have room to start one more closer to the end of summer but make sure Summer 2017 is light, fun and you try and do things you have always wanted to do.
Fall (September 22 - December 20, 2017): The goals you set during this time should reflect the success you have had during the rest of the year. You can really push hard here to achieve what you have set out to do. Reaching your goals and getting so much more in return. If you're in business take this time to finish the year off on a high note (landing a big contract, holding more workshops, supporting one or two more clients, if your schedule has room). This is where if you took the time to establish a self care routine in the Winter and created a balanced schedule it is really beginning to pay off. You can begin winding down around December 10 to prepare for the busy holiday season.
3. Stay Focused and On Track. Make sure you have all the tools you need to stay focused and on track for a successful 2017. Use what works for you. This year I'm trying out the Life Purpose Playbook. A 6 month planner, goal setting workbook and colouring book by Judy Machado-Duque. I picked it up at Indigo but here is the website: http://www.lifepurposeplaybook.com. I'm super excited to get into it and to use the resources on the website. I also use spreadsheets, vision boards, and meditation to help set my goals and help manifest the life I live. This are just a few tools I use so find and use the tools that work for you and are in alignment with your life's purpose.
Here's to the best year of your life!
Recently I became connected with a fellow Yogi and entrepreneur who was very like minded. She offers a supportive and motivating group on Facebook for women with mind-body businesses. As of Sunday February 7th, we started a 90 day yoga challenge. The commitment is a minimum of 5 mins per day spent on one of the Patanjali's Eight Limbs of Yoga. Yes yoga is not just poses (asanas). The eight limbs serve as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. Here is a brief overview of each limb:
We, light beings, signed up to have a human experience and maybe we never reach Samadhi in this life, but we always have the one after. We need to let go of all the judgement and attachment of what yoga is. Honour where you are in the process and allow yourself to honour where your neighbour is on the mat next to you.
Well its been a while since we made any changes or posted on the website. We have been pretty busy with business and life. More time spent outside, with friends and family then in front of the computer screen. We hope you also had a very successful 2015 and are sending gratitude to all our clients in the last year. Whether it be through Regenerate, Friends of Fish Creek or us directly we can't thank you enough. We look forward to 2016 and have some new and exciting workshops coming.
All summer long on Wednesday evenings Gwen and I will be in Fish Creek Park offering yoga from 7-8:30 pm. This series is part of the Wellness Programs offered by Friends of Fish Creek. Our first class was offered last week (July 8th) and I can honestly say we were overwhelmed by the people who came out to practice with us. We are grateful for the 26 beautiful souls that showed up to support the Friends and to grow their own practice. This series donates the money collected from participants back to the Friends to support the many programs they offer in the Park.
Elemental Wellness will also be in the park one Saturday a month at 10-11:30 am for a morning yoga practice.
Until July 29th you can purchase a Yoga Bonus Card for $100.00. This gives you 12 classes for the price of 10! Two free classes who doesn't like free stuff.
You can register for classes with Friends of Fish Creek or just come for Drop-In!
We will be practicing between the Friends of Fish Creek office and the building known as the bunkhouse.
